Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis plans to visit South Korea next week for talks with Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, Yonhap reported. The meeting is set for Monday, July 20, 2026. The visit will be the first bilateral trip to South Korea by a Greek foreign minister in nine years.
It will also mark the first talks between the two ministers since Cho took office in July 2025, according to ministry spokesperson Park Il. The ministers are expected to discuss bilateral relations, cooperation in international forums, and regional and global issues of mutual concern, Park said at a regular briefing.
South Korea and Greece established diplomatic relations in 1961 and have maintained friendly ties across multiple areas since then, the foreign ministry said.
