Haeran Ryu Shoots Record 60 for Three-Shot Lead at Evian Championship

Haeran Ryu shot an 11-under-par 60 in the third round of the 2026 Evian Championship on July 11, establishing the lowest score ever recorded in a major championship for women's, men's or senior events. CBS Sports reported that the round lifted her to 19 under par and a three-shot lead heading into Sunday's final round.

Ryu opened with a 29 on the front nine that included a hole-out eagle on the sixth hole.

She added five birdies on the back nine before an eagle putt on the 18th hole stopped short of a 59, leaving her with a tap-in birdie for 60. The previous major record of 61 had been set three times at the Evian Championship, by Kim Hyo-joo in 2014 and by Lee Jeong-eun and Leona Maguire in 2021. The men's major record stands at 62, first achieved by Branden Grace at the 2017 Open Championship.

Ryu entered the week after winning the Women's PGA Championship two weeks earlier. She did not realize she was on pace for the record until she began counting her score on the 18th green.
