HarbourView Equity Partners Expands Music Catalog Investments to Film and Television
Sherrese Clarke leads HarbourView Equity Partners in acquiring music catalogs and expanding into film, television, and sports assets. The firm has grown assets under management to $2.7 billion.

In early 2023, Clarke informed her former mentor that HarbourView was bidding to acquire the cable network Black Entertainment Television from Paramount Global. The firm had approximately $1 billion in assets under management at the time. Clarke has stated that she has no difficulty pursuing large acquisitions.
HarbourView now owns more than 70 music catalogs containing over 35,000 songs. Financial backers include Apollo and KKR. The firm purchased SoundHouse Acquisitions for $325 million in October 2022, which included catalogs from Tech N9ne and Trey Songz.
It also acquired select songs from Nelly's catalog for $50 million and Usher's stake in Justin Bieber's catalog for nearly $40 million.
Forbes estimates that HarbourView's Fund II delivered more than a 30% return through the first nine months of 2025. Global music revenue is projected to reach $200 billion by 2035, according to Goldman Sachs data. Music catalogs generate revenue from radio play, streaming, social media, commercials, films, and television.
Avi Korn of KKR, which provided a $500 million line of capital to HarbourView in June 2025, stated that music provides returns unlike gold because people continue to consume it. Clarke has said the firm aims to represent culture broadly rather than focusing on specific genres.
Clarke grew up in Queens, New York, as the daughter of Jamaican immigrants. She credits her father with introducing her to finance and attended annual Alvin Ailey dance concerts with her family. Clarke interned at Morgan Stanley while at Georgetown University, earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, and later led Morgan Stanley's entertainment, media and sports structured solutions division.
Clarke is forming a $30 million partnership with Lion Forge Entertainment to acquire film and television catalogs. U.S. law requires music catalogs to return to original owners after 35 years.
