Harrow relaunches eye drop for rare allergic eye disease affecting children

Harrow Inc. 1% on Wednesday. The prescription eye drop treats vernal keratoconjunctivitis, a serious allergic condition that primarily affects children.

VERKAZIA is a topical calcineurin inhibitor immunomodulator. It is designed to address underlying inflammation associated with the disease. Mark Baum, chief executive officer of Harrow, stated that VERKAZIA is the second of three priority products identified in the company’s recent Letter to Stockholders.

He said the relaunch reflects continued focus on underserved ophthalmic diseases and marks progress in executing the firm’s portfolio strategy. Harrow’s stock trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker HROW. Clinical guidelines increasingly support earlier use of calcineurin inhibitors to manage inflammation and reduce dependence on corticosteroids, according to the company.
