yardbarker.comThe Atlanta Hawks and head coach Quin Snyder have agreed to a multiyear contract extension, ESPN reported. The agreement marks the second consecutive extension by Hawks ownership, following a long-term extension for Onsi Saleh. Saleh was promoted to president of basketball operations from general manager on May 27.
Snyder has been head coach of the Atlanta Hawks since the 2022-23 season. He guided the Hawks to a 46-36 record in the most recent regular season before the team lost in the first round to the New York Knicks in six games. The Hawks traded Trae Young to Washington in early January and acquired CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert in the deal.
Snyder then led the team to a 19-5 finish over its final 24 regular-season games. Atlanta has been the only team to beat the Knicks so far this postseason entering Monday's Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Snyder is the first head coach to develop players who won back-to-back Most Improved Player of the Year awards, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels.
