HD Korea Shipbuilding Secures 885 Billion Won Orders for LNG Carrier and FSRU

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. secured orders valued at 885 billion won, or US$570.7 million, for one liquefied natural gas carrier and one floating storage regasification unit, Yonhap reported. The FSRU order is valued at 492.8 billion won and the LNG carrier at 392.2 billion won.

Both vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and delivered to their clients by the first half of 2029. An FSRU stores LNG and regasifies it at sea before supplying natural gas to onshore facilities.

With these contracts, the company has secured US$15.72 billion in orders year to date, reaching 67.4 percent of its annual target.
