New York PostHeidi Klum attended the 2026 Met Gala dressed as a marble statue, complete with prosthetics. The model based her appearance on Raffaelle Monti’s “Veiled Vestal” sculpture housed in London’s Chiswick House. ” Klum planned the transformation for three months.
It took her five hours to get ready on the day of the event. She told The New York Times that it was the best her body had felt at the Met Gala. She stood in flat sandals while many other attendees wore high heels.
“For once, my feet don’t hurt,” she said while wiggling her marble-like toes in the flat sandals. Klum said she had been most worried that Anna Wintour would not like the look. Wintour has co-chaired the Met Gala since 1995.
Klum asked her directly at the event. “She said yes,” Klum confirmed. This year marked Klum’s sixth appearance at the Met Gala. Her first attendance was 23 years earlier. The approach resembled the extensive costume transformations Klum undertakes each year for her well-known Halloween party.
She hosts the event every October and regularly undergoes significant preparation for her costumes.
