WiredHerman Miller released the Coyl standing desk, its first in-house design for gamers, on May 19, 2026. The desk uses a cable trough, coiled power cable, and rotary height dial. The trough sits at the rear of the desk and stores cables and power strips.
Users can raise the desk and lift a felt cover to reach the trough from the front. A red coiled cable connects the desk to a wall outlet. The coil keeps the cable taut as the desk height changes.
A rotary dial adjusts desk height in increments of one-tenth of an inch. A digital display shows the exact height setting. Side hooks hold headphones or backpacks. An optional back panel adds a pegboard for controllers, plants, and other items. The base model starts at $1,095.
Adding the trough raises the price to $1,495, and the back panel brings the total to $1,635. The desktop is available in black, white, walnut, and ash finishes.
Steven Harton, senior product manager at Herman Miller, said the coil design keeps the workspace tidy and draws from vintage telephone and keyboard cables. He also said the dial provides precise control and tactile feedback. The desk carries a 12-year warranty on the desktop, a seven-year warranty on the base and mechanical parts, and a five-year warranty on electrical components.
It is sold through the Herman Miller Gaming sub-brand.
