Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem stated that the current Lebanese government should resign if it cannot secure national sovereignty. Qassem also told Beirut to end negotiations with the United States, saying the Americans would then seek an agreement themselves.
Qassem questioned what the government has achieved during its year and a half in office. Hezbollah is applying pressure on the Lebanese government from within Lebanon while Iran conducts separate talks that list a Lebanese ceasefire among the conditions.
