The complex measures 33,800 square metres and features a toy library, a map library, and more than 2,000 seats.
Chee-hwa said at the ceremony that the library would play a pivotal role in supporting education reform and cultural development. About 600 people queued to be among the first to explore the new library. The Chief Executive committed to making the facility a world-class cultural centre.
