House to Deliberate and Vote on Second Impeachment Complaint Against Vice President Sara Duterte

The House of Representatives is expected to tackle the impeachment case of Vice President Sara Duterte in the plenary on Monday, May 11 2026. Plenary deliberations and a vote are scheduled for that day after the chamber distributed copies of the committee report to all lawmakers before adjourning on Wednesday, May 6 2026. Her impeachment for a second time is all but certain.

The House leadership appears to already have the numbers after parties committed support to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte. Manual computation from numbers provided by Lakas, National Unity Party, and the Party-List Coalition indicate the House has at least 137 votes to indict Sara Duterte. That figure sits comfortably above the constitutional one-third threshold of 106 out of 318 lawmakers.

The impeachment movers have not hidden their effort to reach 215 votes to match the amount of support from last year. House justice committee member Terry Ridon said on Thursday, May 7 2026 that the House has already convinced at least 215 members to back the impeachment drive.

Before the House plenary adjourned on Wednesday, May 6 2026, the House distributed copies of the committee report containing the resolution that sets forth the articles of impeachment to all lawmakers.
