The House oversight committee will conduct seven transcribed interviews over the coming months as part of its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Witnesses include former Attorney General Pam Bondi on May 29, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on June 10, and Tova Noel on May 18. Washington ExaminerThe House oversight committee has scheduled seven transcribed interviews over the coming months as it continues its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The first interview is set for May 18 with Tova Noel, one of the Metropolitan Correctional Center prison guards on duty when Epstein died in 2019.
Former Attorney General Pam Bondi is scheduled to appear on May 29, followed by Epstein’s executive assistant Lesley Groff on June 9 and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on June 10. Epstein’s client Leon Gates will testify on June 26 and former Obama White House Counsel Kathy Ruemmler on July 15.
Democrats have sought to hold Bondi in contempt of Congress after she did not comply with a committee subpoena earlier this year. Bondi faced questions over the Justice Department’s handling of the release of Epstein files before she was fired last month.
Gates has said he “saw nothing illicit” in his relationship with Epstein. He apologized to staff at the Gates Foundation earlier this year for his association with the convicted sex offender. “It was a huge mistake to spend time with Epstein and bring Gates Foundation executives into meetings with the convicted sex offender,” Gates said during a town hall with staff at the Gates Foundation.
Those included former Attorney General Bill Barr, Epstein’s former associate and girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, and billionaire Les Wexner. The panel has released multiple batches of documents, many obtained through a subpoena to Epstein’s estate. The Justice Department has released millions of pages of documents related to Epstein.
The committee has stated that the department has not fully complied with a law passed by Congress last year that requires the release of all such documents. The investigation began last year after the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation released a two-page memo.
The memo stated there is no evidence Epstein blackmailed people or kept a “client list” and reiterated that he died by suicide.
