House Rules Committee Bars Vote on Military Supply Chain Provision

The House rules committee refused to allow a vote on an amendment that would have challenged a defense authorization provision integrating U.S. military technology and supply chains with Israel. The section in question directs closer coordination of American and Israeli defense production. No debate or vote occurred on the measure during consideration of the annual defense bill.

The integration language appears in the National Defense Authorization Act and is intended to align production and technology sharing between the two countries. It moves forward as the current $38 billion U.S. aid arrangement with Israel approaches its 2028 expiration and a new partnership structure is under discussion.

A separate amendment to cut aid was rejected by a 314-104 margin earlier in the process. The rules committee's decision means the integration section will proceed to conference between the House and Senate without an opportunity for a standalone floor vote.

Lawmakers who opposed the provision said they will seek to remove or modify it during conference negotiations between the two chambers.
