Houston to Host Free Fan Festival During 2026 World Cup
Houston will screen all 34 World Cup matches at a free fan festival in East Downtown while seven games take place at NRG Stadium. The festival will include a Space Center Houston exhibit and local performances.

Houston will host seven World Cup matches at NRG Stadium, ending with a round-of-16 game on July 4. U.S. host cities for the tournament. All 34 matches will be shown at a free fan festival in East Downtown. Host committee member Patty Smith said the event is expected to draw large crowds over a three-week period.
The festival will feature two main attractions.
One is a 360-degree experience created by Space Center Houston inside a structure resembling an Adidas soccer ball. The second is Houston Hall, an exhibition hall focused on local culture. Both exhibits will be air-conditioned. The festival site can hold about 7,500 people at one time.
Thirty-four local performers will appear each day. A talent search that began in February identified dancers, musicians, and other acts representing Houston's diversity. Nearby bars and restaurants will participate in a "Football Fiesta" program. Smith said the program is intended to increase capacity beyond the festival footprint.
Food vendors at the festival will offer options that meet kosher and halal requirements. Smith said organizers aimed to accommodate all visitors during the event.
