Huawei computing cluster and AI phone among products set for display at Shanghai AI conference
The ninth World Artificial Intelligence Conference opens July 17 in Shanghai. Huawei’s Atlas 950 SuperPoD computing cluster receives its first physical display alongside other new AI products.

The ninth World Artificial Intelligence Conference will run from July 17 to 20 in Shanghai and feature the first physical display of Huawei Technologies’ Atlas 950 SuperPoD computing cluster, South China Morning Post reported. The cluster, powered by 8,192 Ascend neural processing unit cards, was unveiled by Huawei last year and is optimised for AI neural networks and machine learning tasks.
Tang Wenkan, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatisation, announced the display at a press briefing on Tuesday.
A product described by Tang as “the world’s first AI agent phone” will also debut at the event. Other highlights include MiniMax’s M3 multimodal model, an agent operating system from StepFun, a near-memory computing 3D chip from Dongfang Suanxin, and new humanoid robots with dexterous robotic hands.
China’s shipments of AI phones and computers surpassed 100 million units in 2025, Wang Ruomeng of the National Development and Reform Commission said.
Shipments of these devices are expected to overtake non-AI gadgets in 2026. The conference has been held annually since 2018.
