Hunter Biden announced July 9 on X that he is releasing chapters about the past seven years of his life on Substack. He said the posts represent the first draft of the whole story. ’ a video series exclusive to Substack,” Biden stated.
He posted an excerpt titled “The Laptop” the same day. Biden wrote that the name is not accurate, the provenance was never established, and no court or forensic examiner certified the chain of custody. “I will call it the laptop because by now the word belongs to something larger than a piece of hardware,” he added.
The excerpt described messages that did not belong to anyone sober. “It is accumulation, the slow daily work of an addict doing the thing that is killing him because the alternative feels like dying faster,” Biden wrote. “What I will not do is accept their lies.
Washington Examiner reported that Biden was discharged from the Navy Reserve in 2014 after failing a drug test. He released a book titled Beautiful Things in 2021 that discussed his drug addiction. The full stories will appear on his Substack.
