Hurricanes forward Jarvis to miss 4-6 months after shoulder surgery

The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday that forward Seth Jarvis will miss the start of their Stanley Cup defense due to shoulder surgery. General manager Eric Tulsky stated that Jarvis, 24, had the procedure on a previously injured shoulder and is expected to be out four to six months. Jarvis led the team with 32 goals in 71 regular-season games last year and averaged 0.93 points per game.
Additional roster updates Tulsky also said forward Eric Robinson will miss up to eight weeks after knee surgery. With both players unavailable, Tulsky noted that top prospect Bradly Nadeau could receive additional playing time until Jarvis returns. Nadeau recorded three goals in 12 games with the Hurricanes last season.
Jarvis had four goals and seven assists in 19 playoff games, including one goal and two assists in the Stanley Cup Final.
