Hurricanes Lead Canadiens 3-1 After 4-0 Shutout

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 on Wednesday night to take a 3-1 lead in their second-round series. The win sends the series back to Raleigh for Game 5. Carolina scored three goals in less than three minutes during the first period.

Sebastian Aho, Jordan Staal and Logan Stankoven each scored once in that stretch. Frederik Andersen recorded the shutout, and Andrei Svechnikov added an empty-net goal late in the third period.

The Vegas Golden Knights completed a four-game sweep of the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory. Mark Stone scored in the first period, and Cole Smith added a goal in the third. Gabriel Landeskog scored for Colorado with the goaltender pulled. The Golden Knights will advance to the Stanley Cup Final after eliminating the Avalanche in four games.
