Hwang In-beom Signs Three-Year Contract with FC Porto
South Korean midfielder Hwang In-beom joined reigning Portuguese champions FC Porto on July 21. The club paid 4.5 million euros to Feyenoord for the 29-year-old on a deal with an option for a fourth season.

Hwang In-beom signed with FC Porto on July 21, 2026. Yonhap reported that the Primeira Liga club paid 4.5 million euros, equivalent to US$5.14 million, to Feyenoord for the 29-year-old midfielder. The contract covers three years with an option to extend for a fourth season.
Hwang described himself in a club statement as a player who gives everything on the pitch and said he felt natural pressure at a club that must win. Hwang began his professional career with Daejeon Hana Citizen FC in 2015. He later played for Vancouver Whitecaps FC from 2019 to 2020 and spent time in Russia, Greece and Serbia, where he won two trophies with Crvena zvezda in the 2023-2024 season.
The midfielder has earned 76 caps for South Korea and appeared at the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups. In the 2026 tournament he scored a goal and recorded an assist in the team's 2-1 opening win over Czechia, earning Player of the Match honors in what proved to be South Korea's only victory. FC Porto have secured 31 domestic league titles and seven continental and global trophies.
Hwang becomes the second South Korean player in the Primeira Liga for the 2026-2027 season, joining Lee Hyun-ju at FC Arouca. "We were champions last season, and our goal is to keep the trophy here in the city," Hwang said.
