The NHTSA stated that the condition may result in sudden braking and increase the risk of rear-end collisions. Between October 28, 2024, and April 27, 2026, Hyundai received 376 reports related to the forward collision-avoidance system. Four of those reports involved crashes in which the Hyundai vehicle was struck from behind, resulting in four alleged injuries.
The recall affects more than 421,000 vehicles.
Owners are scheduled to receive notification letters by July 17. Dealers will install a free software update to the front camera. Hyundai stated that the forward collision-avoidance system may exhibit increased sensitivity to forward object proximity in certain driving scenarios.
