The Israel Defense Forces reported striking over 300 Hezbollah infrastructure sites and killing more than 150 members in the 24 hours before a ceasefire with Lebanon took effect. Among the Hezbollah members killed was Ali Reza Abbas, who commanded the unit operating in Bint Jbeil, a town in southern Lebanon where the IDF's Division 98 has been engaged in recent battles. The military stated that Abbas was involved in planning attacks against IDF forces over the years, including during Operation Roaring Lion, and worked to reinforce positions in Bint Jbeil.
Abbas was the fourth commander from Bint Jbeil eliminated by the IDF since the start of Operation Northern Arrows, the statement added. Additional commanders in Hezbollah were also eliminated during these strikes, according to the IDF.
The IDF's 91st Division, in coordination with the Israeli Air Force, conducted an operation in the southern Lebanese municipality of Dibbin before the ceasefire. Over 70 targets were struck in this operation, and more than 20 Hezbollah members were killed, the military reported.
Since the start of Operation Roaring Lion in late February, more than 1,800 Hezbollah members have been killed in Lebanon, based on military figures. The ceasefire followed ongoing military actions amid the conflict along the Israel-Lebanon border.
