The new system uses a traffic-light style with Red, Yellow, and Green alerts. A Yellow alert with a dedicated sound signals a potential incoming threat and instructs users to move closer to a protected space. A Red alert with a siren indicates an imminent threat and directs users to enter the nearest protected space.
A Green alert with a dedicated sound signals that the event has ended and the danger has passed.
Lock screen alerts and notifications will display clearer and faster information about the event type and required action without opening the application. The system will also distinguish between alerts for a user's current location and alerts for up to 10 areas of interest set by the user.
