IDF Lifts Security Restrictions on Eight Lebanon Border Communities June 22
The Home Front Command will restore full activity levels at 6 a.m. Monday in Safsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, and Sde Eliezer. The move follows a U.S.-Iranian ceasefire agreement that included Lebanon.

The communities of Safsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, and Sde Eliezer will move to full activity level. Many border communities near Lebanon have been under security restrictions for much of the last two and a half years due to conflict with Hezbollah. -Iranian Memorandum of Understanding signed the week of June 21, 2026. Fighting was reported in southern Lebanon after the adoption of the ceasefire. Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem stated on June 21, 2026, that Israel must leave Lebanon.
He said there will be no safe zone for IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon. Qassem referred to Israel as the aggressor and stated that Israeli actions in Lebanon have revealed its humiliation through the killing of Lebanese civilians. The announcement was made by the IDF in a statement on June 21, 2026.
