Iga Swiatek Defeats Karolina Pliskova 6-1, 6-3 at Wimbledon

Reigning champion Iga Swiatek defeated former world number one Karolina Pliskova 6-1, 6-3 in the Wimbledon second round on Thursday. Swiatek won the first set in 28 minutes and broke Pliskova's serve three times in the second set.

Pliskova, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2021, held serve in three games. The victory advanced Swiatek to the third round, where she will face the winner of a later match.
