Ilhan Omar’s 2025 filing lists assets at up to $125,000 after 2024 report overstated husband’s ownership share

Rep. Ilhan Omar filed a 2025 financial disclosure that values her and her spouse’s assets at a maximum of $125,000, Fox News reported after reviewing the filing. The lower-end estimate places the total at $20,000.

The same report lists her husband’s credit-card debt between $15,000 and $50,000 and her own student-loan balance in the same range. An earlier 2024 disclosure had reported assets controlled by Omar and her spouse between $6 million and $30 million.

A winery linked to her husband was valued between $1 million and $5 million in the original 2024 filing and revised to “none” in both the 2025 report and a March 2025 amended 2024 filing.

Omar stated through a spokeswoman that the original 2024 filing was based on incomplete information from her husband’s businesses’ accountants. ” Omar and her senior staff stated that previous disclosures reported the full values of the wine and advisory businesses rather than her husband’s individual share.

” Omar’s 2025 disclosures report that her husband’s only income, between $200 and $1,000, came from a defunct winery.

The 2024 disclosure had reported that he earned between $100,000 and $1 million through the venture-capital advisory firm.
