Power engineers in India have turned to pedestal fans and garden hoses to cool electricity transformers during the ongoing heatwave. The approach directs airflow and water onto transformer units to reduce operating temperatures when standard cooling systems are insufficient.

Utility crews have deployed the technique at multiple sites where ambient temperatures have exceeded equipment design limits. The same method has been repeated at additional substations as heat conditions persist. No official statements on long-term infrastructure changes have been issued.
