Indian Company Airbound Unveils Autonomous Hybrid Drone

Airbound has unveiled an autonomous drone that takes off like a helicopter and flies like a plane. The aircraft weighs less than a bag of sugar and is built from carbon fibre. It can cover up to 40 kilometres on a single charge. The hybrid design combines vertical takeoff and landing capabilities with the efficiency of fixed-wing flight.

This configuration allows the drone to operate without runways while maintaining extended range. The company presented the aircraft as a lightweight solution for various applications.

The drone's carbon fibre construction contributes to its low weight. Its maximum range of 40 kilometres is achieved on a single battery charge. The aircraft operates autonomously without requiring direct pilot control during flight. The unveiling highlights ongoing development in hybrid drone technology.
