Influencer Brianna LaPaglia Undergoes Emergency Surgery for Ovarian Cyst

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia underwent emergency surgery on Sunday after experiencing severe abdominal pain caused by a large ovarian cyst that had twisted her ovary. The 26-year-old influencer and podcaster described the events in a TikTok video posted Monday.

She said she and the man she is dating ate Taco Bell on Saturday, after which her stomach began hurting. The pain escalated, leading to projectile vomiting and convulsions on the bathroom floor. When the pain reached what she described as a 20 out of 10, she asked the man to take her to an emergency room.

A male doctor initially attributed her symptoms to the fast food she had eaten. A vaginal ultrasound later revealed a large cyst on her ovary that required immediate removal. According to information provided in the video from the Cleveland Clinic, ovarian torsion occurs when large cysts cause an ovary to twist, cutting off its blood supply and producing sudden severe pain that needs emergency care.

LaPaglia was transferred by ambulance to another hospital for the procedure. “There was half a liter of blood on my pelvic floor, that’s where, essentially, all the pain was coming from,” she said in the video. Doctors drained the blood and fully removed the cyst.

LaPaglia also said she was supposed to move into a new apartment on the day of the surgery, leaving her without a place to stay immediately afterward. She has been staying at the home of the man she is dating, whom she described as providing extensive care during the ordeal.

“This poor guy, who is amazing, completely taking care of me, like, I don’t know what I would have done without him and now I’m just, like, staying in his house, I feel so bad,” she told viewers while sitting on his couch. She added that he sat with her in the emergency room, waited through her surgery, brought her home and cared for her afterward.
