Users. The system lets people tag a public Instagram account in a text prompt so that photos from that profile appear in the output. It accepts detailed instructions, multiple reference images, and subsequent edits to the results.
Public-account holders can stop future use of their content by opening Instagram settings, selecting Sharing and reuse, and turning off the option for Posts and Reels. Private accounts are already excluded. The change affects only images generated after the setting is altered, and users receive no notification when their photos are used.
Meta stated that Muse Image applies advanced reasoning to handle complex prompts and blend references. The company described the service as free for everyday use, with extra capacity offered through paid subscriptions. It plans to add the tool to Facebook and Messenger and to release an advertiser version.
A video-generation edition is also in development. CAA, SAG-AFTRA, and talent managers said the feature puts creators at risk. Ofcom is separately investigating X over Grok's role in creating and sharing non-consensual AI-altered images.
