Apple released the third developer beta of iOS 27 on July 6, 2026. TechCrunch reported that the beta activates voice controls for Siri’s pace and expressivity, features previously labeled “Coming soon” in earlier developer betas. Siri voice customization was first introduced at WWDC 26 in June.
Beta testers can now switch between voices with different accents and use sliders to adjust how slowly or quickly Siri speaks and how much human-like emotion the voice conveys. ” The AI-powered Siri is integrated into iOS 27 and can be activated by speaking, swiping down from the Dynamic Island, typing, tapping the side button, or using a stand-alone Siri app.
The beta also includes an updated Reminders app icon.
Some users on X reported losing access to the new Siri or seeing their phone re-index data after installing the update.
