Videos of an iPhone 18 Pro drop test were taken down from X after a data breach at Tata Electronics. The Verge reported that an imitating account was suspended and other posts were removed for violating platform rules.
The VergeVideos purporting to show an iPhone 18 Pro undergoing a drop test were removed from X shortly after they appeared. An account imitating leaker Evleaks was suspended, and the original post sharing the clips was also taken down, with X stating that it "violated" the platform's rules. Leaker IceUniverse posted the same clips on X and later shared a screenshot on Weibo showing the removal.
Other accounts have since reposted the clips. On Monday, Reuters reported that photos of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro surfaced on the dark web following a data breach at Tata Electronics, one of Apple's key suppliers. The leaked material included drop-test images and parts lists that match the videos circulating on X.
A source told Reuters that Apple had been "concerned" about the breach. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Verge.
