Iran Airport and Shipping Route Resume After Suspensions Amid Calls for Revenge

Bandar Abbas International Airport in southern Iran resumed commercial flights after a four-month suspension. A maritime cargo route between Iran’s Dayyer port and Qatar’s Al-Ruwais port also restarted operations after a five-month suspension. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani attended a prayer ceremony in Tehran.

Khamenei’s sons Masoud, Meysam and Mostafa were present, while his son Mojtaba did not attend. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief Ahmad Vahidi appeared in public on Thursday for the first time since the US-Israeli attack in February. The ceremony drew massive crowds amid heightened tensions and public calls for revenge against the US and Israel.

Mostafa Khoshcheshm, professor at the University of Applied Science and Technology, said a breakdown of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding could trigger a third round of conflict. “If the United States doesn’t abide by the terms of this MoU, we are going to witness a third war which will be more devastating, more ravaging than the first two,” he stated.

He added that the next conflict would affect the entire region and beyond, while noting Iran’s efforts to make diplomacy work.

Israel’s Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir told soldiers near Beaufort Castle that the Lebanese army must fulfill commitments under the historic agreement and cleanse the area of Hezbollah terrorists.
