Iran Denies U.S. Negotiator Meetings in Qatar After Trump Announcement
Iran's Foreign Ministry said no negotiation meetings with U.S. officials would occur in Doha this week. President Trump had announced talks would resume at Tehran's request following weekend strikes.

Iran's Foreign Ministry denied on June 29 that its negotiators would meet U.S. officials in Qatar on June 30. -Iran talks would resume in Qatar at Tehran's request. The two sides exchanged strikes over the June 27-28 weekend.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran alone will undertake demining of the Strait of Hormuz under the agreement, which assigns removal of approximately 80 mines to Iran within 30 days.
He described the situation in the strait as "sensitive and complex" and advised France against complicating it. French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France and Oman agreed to collaborate with international partners on demining the strait. Iran and Oman confirmed they held their first meeting in Muscat to discuss management of the waterway.
Oman's foreign minister Badr al-Busaidi said the country is committed to not imposing transit fees. Commodity vessel crossings through the Strait of Hormuz fell to 29 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday after a vessel was struck while transiting on Saturday, according to Kpler data. The figures compare with 70 crossings on Wednesday, June 24.
Qatar's transport ministry instructed ship owners and operators to suspend sailing and marine activities until further notice. Aaron David Miller said ships will not return to moving through the Strait of Hormuz as freely as before February 27. Mark Zandi estimated the Iran war has cost Americans roughly $1,000 per household in higher fuel, food and other expenses since February.
