Billboards depicting President Trump lying in an open black coffin appeared in Enghelab Square in central Tehran around July 15. The image carried the words "We Will Kill Trump" in Persian and English. A separate billboard unveiled around July 14 in Palestine Square showed portraits of Trump and his family above coffins draped in U.S.

Strikes hit a control tower at Iran’s third-largest port. President Trump had declared a cease-fire agreement over more than a week earlier, after which daily bombardments escalated into some of the most widespread attacks since the war began in late February. Tehran released an Iranian American citizen during the week of July 13-17.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Iran could be open to talks.
