Iran and Pakistan Submit Revised Proposal to End Conflict and Reopen Strait of Hormuz

Iran and Pakistan submitted a revised proposal to the United States to end the ongoing conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, according to a Reuters report citing two unnamed Pakistani sources. A response from Washington is expected by Sunday. Pakistan’s military chief, General Asim Munir, traveled to Tehran on Friday for 24 hours of intensive talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and other senior officials. The Pakistani military described the discussions as productive.

Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said the talks produced achievements and that a positive stride could be taking shape if the other side remains committed. He credited Pakistan’s mediation efforts.
