A senior Pakistani diplomat said Islamabad understood frustrations on all sides but that restarting the war would be a total disaster for everyone. On Tuesday, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry reported that its ambassador-designate to Iran met with Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar before departing for Tehran.

A South Korean oil tanker carrying two million barrels of oil transited the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday after consultations with Iranian authorities. Foreign Minister Cho Hyun told lawmakers the passage marked the first time a South Korea-flagged vessel had crossed the strait since the war began.

The tanker Universal Winner departed Kuwait and was headed for Ulsan. The transit occurred weeks after another South Korean-operated vessel was struck by unidentified aircraft near the strait on May 4, an incident Tehran denied involvement in.

The message marked two years since the death of former President Ebrahim Raisi in a May 2024 helicopter crash. U.S. or Israeli airstrike on February 28. U.S. officials say the younger Khamenei is believed to be alive but was wounded in the same strike. He has not appeared publicly since the announcement.
