Iran World Cup Squad to Arrive in Tijuana Early Sunday Ahead of Mexican Base Camp
Iran's national football team will depart Antalya on June 6 and reach Mexico the next morning, according to a team statement. The squad remains at a training camp while awaiting U.S. visas.

M. local time on Sunday, June 7, a team statement said Wednesday. The squad has trained in the southern Turkish resort since May 18 and will remain based in Mexico for the duration of the 2026 World Cup.
U.S. visas.
U.S. Visa would be issued quickly. Taj also said the team would fly to Mexico via Spain. It was not immediately clear whether the Mexico visas had been received.

The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, runs from June 11 to July 19. Iran's Team Melli has been drawn in Group G. Iran will play New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15, Belgium in Los Angeles on June 21, and Egypt in Seattle on June 26.
Ahead of its departure on Saturday, Iran will play a final friendly against Mali in Antalya on Thursday. The team beat Gambia 3-1 in a friendly in Antalya on May 29, with forward Mehdi Taremi featuring in that match.
