Iranian Adviser Says Strait of Hormuz Belongs to Iran

Ali Akbar Velayati, a former Iranian foreign minister and adviser to the supreme leader, told Iran's state television that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran. "No power in the world can take the Strait of Hormuz from Iran's ownership," he said. He added that the strait had been brought under Iranian sovereignty by the command of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Iranian state media reported that the Iranian army launched drone attacks on Bahrain's Sheikh Isa Air Base, targeting communication and radar systems. The IRGC later stated it had carried out a second attack on the same base, claiming destruction of air reconnaissance radars and a fuel pumping station.

The IRGC said the attacks responded to U.S. strikes that forced evacuation of a children's cancer hospital in Ahvaz and a water production plant in Ilam province. It also reported combined drone and missile strikes on Kuwait's Ali Al Salem Air Base and a U.S. military pier in Ash-Shu'aybah.

Zolfaghari, spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned that any U.S. attacks on Iranian infrastructure would be met with strikes on regional infrastructure. He said Iran would not allow U.S. interference in the Strait of Hormuz.

Raggi said the goal of Lebanon's armed forces is to extend authority over all Lebanese territory, including the south. He stated that this objective depends on a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Raggi said the decision to end Hezbollah's military presence reflected a national will rather than external pressure.

Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians from the Aida refugee camp north of Bethlehem, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
