Iranian missiles strike two UAE oil tankers in Strait of Hormuz

Two Emirati oil tankers were struck by Iranian cruise missiles in the Strait of Hormuz, the Emirati Ministry of Defence said. One Indian crew member was killed and eight others were wounded in the attack. Qatar's foreign ministry condemned the strikes as a serious violation of international navigation safety and a direct threat to global energy supplies.

The ministry called on Iran to immediately cease practices that undermine regional security and to comply with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817. Oman stated it continues transparent cooperation with all parties to restore freedom of navigation in the strait in line with international law.
