The Iranian navy stated that 32 commercial vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz after receiving permission coordinated with the IRGC Navy. The waterway had been closed to general traffic, with authorities vetting individual passage requests.
pakistantoday.com.pkThe Iranian navy said 32 ships, including oil tankers and container vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz in a 24-hour period after obtaining permission coordinated with the IRGC Navy. A report from the semiofficial Tasnim News Agency stated that the IRGC navy provided security coordination for the vessels.
Iranian authorities have kept the critical waterway closed to general maritime traffic and have been reviewing individual requests for passage.
Roughly one-fifth of global oil supplies and a substantial share of liquefied natural gas normally move through the strait. Recent discussions between the United States and Iran have reportedly included reopening shipping lanes as part of a possible arrangement.

The post listed Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkiye, Egypt and Jordan as countries that should participate.
