A source familiar with the details told i24 News that Iran's supreme leader did not approve a draft nuclear agreement. The same source said the absence of that approval was one reason the U.S. side did not endorse the text.
The source described an agreement reached between Iranian negotiator Aragchi and U.S. envoy Ghalibf Whitkoff along with members of the U.S. team. That draft, however, never received final sign-off from the senior Iranian leadership, according to the source.
i24 News' Amichai Stein reported the account on the outlet's platform. The report cited a single unnamed source and did not include additional corroboration from other participants. >"Khamenei did not approve the agreement, and this is one of the reasons Trump did not say 'yes'" — Amichai Stein, i24 News.
