Iraqi security forces arrested several politicians, lawmakers and senior government officials early on June 28 in dawn raids across Baghdad. Elite Counter Terrorism Service units raided homes inside the heavily fortified Green Zone and carried out the detentions on direct orders from Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.
