The Israeli cabinet has decided that any Hezbollah rocket or drone targeting northern Israel will trigger an automatic retaliatory strike on Beirut. The policy removes the requirement for special political approval before such strikes occur. The IDF can now launch retaliatory strikes on Beirut without seeking additional authorization.

Netanyahu does not need to provide approval by phone under the new arrangement. The cabinet has already made the decision on automatic retaliatory strikes. The policy applies specifically to Hezbollah rockets or drones targeting northern Israel.
