Members of Israel’s Second Authority Council appeared before the High Court to oppose petitions that seek to cancel their appointments. Second Authority chair Dr. Yifat Ben Hay-Segev and other council members told the court the petitions are politically driven and legally unfounded. The hearing concerns appointments made to the media regulator that oversees commercial television and radio.
The petitions also request the dismissal of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. A photograph from the April 15, 2026 hearing shows the courtroom setting. The court has not yet issued a ruling on the petitions.
