A four-month-old Palestinian boy died after Israeli forces prevented his transfer through a checkpoint west of Ramallah for more than an hour on Sunday evening. Laila Ghannam, governor of Ramallah and el-Bireh, said doctors at the Arab Specialised Hospital confirmed the death of Ahmad Marouf Zeid after the delay.
She added that soldiers fired tear gas to stop Palestinians attempting to pass the checkpoint at the entrance to Deir Ammar village. Ghannam described the incident as part of a policy that obstructs Palestinians' freedom of movement and access to healthcare.
Separate shooting incident Israeli forces shot dead a 16-year-old boy at the Qalandiya refugee camp near Ramallah on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Two other boys, both aged 14, were wounded in the same incident.
strike An Israeli drone struck a crowd on Omar al-Mukhtar Street in central Gaza City on Sunday, killing at least two people and wounding several others, health officials said. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that violations of the ceasefire that took effect in October have killed 1,066 people and wounded 3,445 others since then.
It added that the overall death toll from the war that began in October 2023 stands at 73,090, with 173,550 others injured.
