Several people were wounded when an Israeli drone struck a vehicle traveling on the Zefta-Kfarwa road in southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported. The attack took place after the governments of Israel and Lebanon reached an agreement to end the war during meetings held in Washington, DC.

Ceasefire details The agreement includes the creation of “pilot zones” where areas would be cleared of certain elements before Lebanese army forces, supported by U.S. personnel and Israeli forces, determine when military movement into those regions can occur. The timeline for implementation of the zones has not been specified.

Reactions to the agreement Israeli politician Benny Gantz welcomed the U.S.-brokered deal, stating it “could constitute a significant diplomatic breakthrough in the war against Hezbollah” but added that the army must remain deployed in Lebanese territory until full implementation.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called the agreement a “serious mistake,” arguing Hezbollah will grow stronger and questioning the Lebanese army’s ability to enforce the terms.

Additional incidents An Israeli air strike hit an apartment block in central Gaza, killing at least nine people and causing a fire, rescue teams responded to the scene. Separately, an Israeli drone struck a road between Kfar Reman and Habboush in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, Al Jazeera Arabic reported.
