Israeli Finance Minister Says Settlement Expansion Has Begun

Israel's finance minister said the country has started a settlement expansion effort that will not be limited to the occupied West Bank. The statement was made as funeral processions for Iran's late supreme leader continued in Tehran.

Israel's defence minister said his country had carried out the assassination of the Iranian leader and warned that any new Iranian leader pursuing similar policies would face the same outcome, according to Israel's Channel 13. Iran's foreign minister said the United States had committed to controlling actions by Israel and that any threat against Iranian people or leadership would receive an immediate response.

Medical sources at Nasser Hospital and al-Hilal Hospital said at least four people were killed and 16 wounded in an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle along al-Rashid coastal road in southern Gaza. Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli forces triggered an explosion overnight in the town of Hula in the Marjayoun district.

Iran's army chief said the country would continue to pursue justice over the assassination and would not abandon that effort.
