Israeli Forces Discover Weapons Stash in Lebanese Hospital Amid Regional Tensions

Israeli forces conducted an operation in Lebanon's Bint Jbeil municipality this weekend, where they discovered a weapons stash inside a hospital. The stash included weapons, ammunition, and explosives. Images of the findings were shared with reporters.

During the operation, forces detected surveillance and firing from a hospital window directed at troops. This led to the elimination of approximately 20 individuals within the hospital compound.

A statement from the forces indicated that the Hezbollah organization had used the hospital compound and its surroundings for military purposes on multiple occasions.

This use was described as a violation of international law. Prior to the operation, warnings were issued to Lebanese authorities through various channels to cease military activity in hospitals, but such activity continued. The hospital's location in a populated area raises concerns about civilian safety and adherence to protections for medical facilities under international norms.

The operation highlights ongoing cross-border activities in the region, which have persisted despite diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities.

The discussions, held at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, lasted 21 hours but ended without an agreement.
