Ministry spokesman stated that Washington must accept Iranian demands to avoid further losses. He told the Tasnim news agency that compliance with Iran’s “rights” is the only way out of the current conflict. Jordanian and Qatari officials discussed Pakistani mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran.
The ministers stressed the need for a sustainable solution that addresses all causes of the crisis, according to a Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement. NATO foreign ministers concluded a two-day meeting in Sweden. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said Iran continues to attempt to hold the global economy hostage by closing the Strait of Hormuz and that countries are moving essential assets to the region.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed disappointment after the 11th Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ended without consensus. He called the outcome a missed opportunity to make the world safer.
