Officials from the Health Ministry's High Hospitalization Authority met Sunday evening to review updates from the World Health Organization on the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. The meeting examined existing procedures and steps for additional preparedness if required, according to a Telegram post by Ministry spokesperson Shira Solomon.

The Ministry stated that the risk of an outbreak in Israel is low, that no Ebola cases are known in the country, and that the discussions were for monitoring and preparedness.

The WHO reported 906 suspected Ebola cases and 223 suspected deaths in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as of Wednesday. As of Friday, nine confirmed cases and a total of 134 confirmed cases across both countries have been recorded, with 18 confirmed deaths.

Health authorities advise travelers to affected regions to avoid contact with sick individuals, contaminated materials, and high-risk environments while maintaining hygiene practices. Dr. Roni Farber, director of the Public Health Division at Femi, wrote that there is no recommendation to avoid flights to Africa and most travelers are not expected to be exposed to the disease.
